School-Based Behavioral Health Liaison

I recently obtained my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Walden University, and a National Certified Counselor through NBCC while continuing to work towards my LPC-MHSP here in Tennessee. I began working with children through a community-based organization where the child was considered at-risk with either court/DCS involvement or at risk of being placed into a residential setting. Through the Comprehensive Child and Family Therapy (CCFT) we worked with not only the child but the family to help them with mental health, behavioral, and social-economic struggles. I have always felt that working with the adolescent population was rewarding. If you help them get through the struggles as a child, then maybe it will be easier for them to transition into adulthood. What better way to do it then to empower them to be the best individual they can be for themselves.
