Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health
Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) is best defined as “the ability to love well and grow well.” Our IECMH services seek to support caregivers and children 0-72 months of age to reach that goal. Welcoming babies and young children into a family often brings change and change is hard. Our IECMH services are designed to work with both the caregiver and child to support the relationship, support the caregivers stress level, and address situations that might cause building a relationship with young children to be more difficult. These services always welcome the child and caregiver for all sessions and the work is to support the pair together. Common referrals for IECMH services include, but are not limited to:
Parental Separation or Divorce
Caregiver Domestic Violence
Chronic Illness/Conditions for the young child and/or caregiver
Foster Care
Domestic or International Adoption
Car Accidents, Dog Bite, or other similar traumatic events
Addition of a new sibling
Caregiver engaged in active recovery for substance abuse
